Wallace advocated neuroplasticity for effecting social change via eliminating the negative traits of bicamerality (which he called 'mysticism') using a new range of abstractions and metaphors.

Unfortunately Wallace's original website is now defunct but an archive page of that article exists on http://www.shlomifish.org/n-t-/neo-tech/discovery/nt3.html

Gavrielhttp://www.gavrielshaw.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6601498033460501328.post-64311829573307122022013-12-15T19:18:24.738+11:002013-12-15T19:18:24.738+11:00Hi Christopher, thanks for your great comment. And yes, you're absolutely right, Graves (and his students), Wilber and a number of other key people's work also speaks to and supports what I've layed out in my post. This is not a wholely new message, but I do believe the combination/synthesis of ideas, connected as I have them, is quite revolutionary and incredibly profound. I know I've not seen the articulation of these insights in quite the way I bought them together anywhere else before. I've been verbally sharing these insights for years across a number of communities and in my trainings. But I thought it was time I sat down and wrote them up for a wider audience. And entertainingly, I wrote the blog post in one sitting while flying across to the UK to run the mBIT Coach Cert you were on. So that flight had many benefits. Not least of which was it connected me with some fantastic people at the mBIT training :-)Grant Soosaluhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01926109399246162045noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6601498033460501328.post-41552235126159998162013-12-15T18:57:18.922+11:002013-12-15T18:57:18.922+11:00Hi Jean, thanks! And you are right, it's a more fleshed out version of my post "We are what we think/know" http://enhancingmylife.blogspot.com.au/2010/04/we-are-what-we-know.html

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts, feelings and insights. Your support of my message and work is very very much appreciated

smiles, GrantGrant Soosaluhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01926109399246162045noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6601498033460501328.post-81526177186193260342013-12-14T04:13:59.252+11:002013-12-14T04:13:59.252+11:00Hi Grant. Thanks for this post - fascinating and ...Hi Grant. Thanks for this post - fascinating and yet also adding to my reading list! As I read your exploration and insight I am excited by the realisation that in essence, we are each more unique than our fingerprints! As you know I have studied and practised the application of stage development theory in many contexts for the last few years - Much of what you write reflects the findings of authors and researchers such as Jean Gebser (The Ever Present Origin), and Clare W Graves (The Emergent Cyclical Double Helix and Adult Bio-Psycho Social Systems Development) . Ken WIlber in his book Integral Psychology maps out the range of stage development theories and metaphors that all allude to some recursive patterns of 'consciousness'. It was Graves, I believe, first identified through primary research that there is indeed a neuroplasticity of central nervous system of the individual being, and that an individual may adapt and evolve new Schema, which, through interaction with others, may 'infect' other minds like psycho social viruses. My curiosity is triggered here as to what is the organising dynamic that creates the capacity for the new stages or patterns in the first place? Here we have in psychology the early whispers of Epi-memetics.
In the early 1970's, Graves was mapping the emergence of the Holographic Mind, when left and right brain distinctions started to melt away leading to new language of analogue and digital processing (1974). Today, with Spiral Dynamics Integral, (an abduction of Wilber, Graves, Beck and Cowan), and remembering that Wilber effectively mapped a Kosmology of all science and wisdom traditions, there is a rich map and metaphor of these transitions, stages, or waves of consciousness that have been mapped over the past 120,000 years. Each of these stages have indeed different intensities, or degrees of activation of the Gut,Head and Heart (and other) intelligences as attributes of the Human Holon. A recent work that I would suggest indicates the current emergence of a new collective intelligence, and expression of Being that transcends and includes all previous 'neural intelligence centre's' is written by Jacob Needleman - An Unknown World - Notes on the meaning of the Earth. So Grant thanks you for your inspiration and practical applications through mBraining. I look forward to many red wines over the next 50 years! Much gratitude to you. Best regards. Of course, some of us have brains that automatically edit out references to evolution and Darwinism, but that does not change the message. Most people go through life letting too much harmful stuff shape their brains, it not even occurring to them that this is something they could, to a large extent, control.
